If we were to use one word to define the art of Almudena Lobera (Madrid, 1984) that word would be poetry. Her iconography is traversed by a poetic language, which is expressed in drawings (in all possible formats), photographs and, even, installations. The world of the subconscious and dream is materialized in pillows, silences, emptiness and perceived silhouettes. Her weapons are persuasion and the discovery of the things we do when no one is looking, not even ourselves. Common objects are redefined in a discourse devoid of conventionalisms and dogmas of faith: "My art is introspective and poetic, it emerges from sifting through everything that appeals to me. I am currently focusing my research and art practice on the meaning, the production and the perception of images that represent non-visible realities, which are the fruit of fantasies, states of unconsciousness, mental disorders or obsessions".
